famoses

famoses is a modular educational program for children with epilepsy and their parents/families. It consists of two parts, a children's course and a parents' course. It supports families in dealing with epilepsy, it helps (others) to better understand the condition, and it is a lot of fun!

famoses for children:
This course is designed like a sea journey: with the help of two trainers, the children imagine that they are on a sea journey,
discovering islands, looking for hidden treasures, and learn to
steer their boat. In playing, they learn a lot about epilepsy.

famoses for parents:
The parents' course consists of several modules, each of which addresses a specific issue, for example "Basic Knowledge", "Diagnostics", "Therapy", "Prognosis and Development", "Living with Epilepsy". The working techniques used are very diverse, and the participants can bring in their own experience.

The goal of famoses:
- to get to know epilepsy and to learn to understand it
- to give information about diagnostic methods and treatment possibilities
- to find an active way of dealing with epilepsy
- to enable a life with few restrictions
