Since 2003 the EPNS has organised training courses to offer fellows and (young) paediatric neurologists the opportunity to learn paediatric neurology at a level prescribed by the Syllabus of the EPNS, to meet experts in the field and to exchange knowledge and personal experience.
These are two day courses usually combined with an international meeting (EPNS, EACD) at a location that can be easily reached at a relatively low cost. There is a written examination at the end of each course.
Because of the interactive character of the course, there is an upper limit of around 75 participants.
In 2007 a fee reduction was introduced for participants from certain European countries (in income class 1 and 2 of the World Bank): Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia and Montenegro, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. In addition, some resources have been made available by the EPNS to cover part of the travel expenses for applicants from these countries.
